“I spent my life folded between the pages of books. In the absence of human relationships I formed bonds with paper characters. I lived love and loss through stories threaded in history; I experienced adolescence by association. My world is one interwoven web of words, stringing limb to limb, bone to sinew, thoughts and images all together. I am a being comprised of letters, a character created by sentences, a figment of imagination formed through fiction.”

Review Policy and Contact

2 B Read was created on Friday, April 13, 2012. Please know we are located in the USA.

We currently accept review requests, swag items, (some) blog tours, interviews, giveaways, and cover reveals.

Types of books we review:

*ONLY YOUNG ADULT*

This blog is mainly/entirely about YA books so please keep that in mind when it comes to some of the things we don’t do.

We do the following: Paranormal Romance, Fantasy, Sci-fi, and Dystopian, Post- apocalyptic, some mythology (preferably Greek) if it is anything like Percy Jackson Series or The Goddess Test (MODERN)/myth re-tellings, some YA Christian fiction. (i.e. Holly's Heart by Beverly Lewis). (this is what we prefer but we are willing to branch slightly. It is not guaranteed, though. Please contact us if the genre is not one listed—provide a description, title, author, and genre—and we will let you know)

We don’t do: non-fiction, contemporary, erotica, biographies or memoirs, political, anything on homosexuality, sports, historical fiction, or self-help, poetry. (etc.)

(Please check out our Goodreads lists and archives to see if we have read a book like yours.)

*See the Review tab for the Archives

Format of books preferred:

We read only paper books (hardcover/paperback) (ARCs, finished copies)

No eBooks. We don’t have any device to read them on and reading off the computer is painful (hurts the eyes) and not very mobile.

We don’t accept self-published books, e-books, self-published books, indie press books, or interactive media books at this time. Exceptions include those already on our TBR piles (Goodreads. Links below.)

(Rach does not have a Goodreads account)

About Our Reviews:

We put only our honest opinion in our reviews. We try to say what we liked and what we didn’t with little to no spoilers and how we felt over all about the book. Along with a spoiler-y discussion about the book for people who have/will read the book. The spoiler-y discussion is hidden from view and is only accessible upon purposefully highlighting the invisible text. In the spoiler-y discussion we mention what we couldn’t before without giving something away. Love interests, main events, surprise plot twists, emotions at certain points, etc., may be mentioned in this part of the post.

It is not often that we do not finish a book but if that occurs we will try to say a few nice things about the book but basically a “not a book for me” kind of thing. Others might enjoy it so we will encourage them to check other reviews on Goodreads (and the overall ratings listed on that website)

**We would like you to have some say in who you would like to review your book, since we each have different review styles. You can email the preferred reviewer asking them to review your book but that does not mean they will definitely be the one that will. (Please CC the rest of us so we can all be notified. In case the person you chose is away.) We try to share reviews so it is not definite you will get the reviewer you asked for but your request will be put into consideration and we will try as hard as possible to make it happen for you. (We will email you who will be, in the end, reviewing your book.)

We try not to read books out of order. If you would like us to read a book that is a part of a series we haven’t read yet please include the predecessors. (We don't like to read books out of order so please try to not give us books from the middle of a series we have not read)

We publish the review on Goodreads and Barnes and Noble (please let us know if you would like it on Amazon)

***REALLY REALLY GOOD NEWS*** We hardly ever give books a 3 or less. We tend to pick books we really love and not blog about the ones that weren't our favorite(or even read them), but it could come up that a rating 3 or less was granted. Most books are rated 6 or 5 stars, with a couple 4s in between. *Please note that we don't promise to give a 4 or above rating it's just what most likely happens.*
