“I spent my life folded between the pages of books. In the absence of human relationships I formed bonds with paper characters. I lived love and loss through stories threaded in history; I experienced adolescence by association. My world is one interwoven web of words, stringing limb to limb, bone to sinew, thoughts and images all together. I am a being comprised of letters, a character created by sentences, a figment of imagination formed through fiction.”

THE HOST by Stephanie Meyer

The Host by Stephanie Meyer
Summary by goodreads.com

Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact and continue their lives apparently unchanged. Most of humanity has succumbed.

When Melanie, one of the few remaining "wild" humans, is captured, she is certain it is her end. Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, was warned about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the glut of senses, the too-vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

Wanderer probes Melanie's thoughts, hoping to discover the whereabouts of the remaining human resistance. Instead, Melanie fills Wanderer's mind with visions of the man Melanie loves - Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she has been tasked with exposing. When outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off on a dangerous and uncertain search for the man they both love.

..........................................................................................................................................................

Hey it's Mariana AGAIN! So, I wanna recomend The Host I haven't finished it, BUT it is amazing so I cannot hold back from writing about it! So let's go through the basics, it's about a version of our world where aliens have taken over and they get injected into their "hosts" WINK WINK! So they get control over the body. But, our focus is shifted to one special Soul (name of the aliens) called Wanderer because she had lived on about 9 planets! So she gets injected into a Host that was a rebel, and what she discovers is that the Host isn't gone! She is still alive inside of her.  Wanderer is NOT OK with this. Wanderer wants Melanie(the host) to go away. But she won't and that is where the adventure begins!!
OMG if that didn't make you want to read the Host! This should!
"Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. Our world had been invaded by an unseen enemy that takes over the minds of human hosts while leaving their bodies intact.  But Wanderer, the invading soul who occupies Melanie's body, finds its former tenant refusing to relinquish possession of her mind."
If you still don't want to read it you are INSANE!!

And a quote, just to make sure you are SOLD on the book:

“Please!” the shouts are more desperate.
I feel like laughing when I know that I am fast enough. I imagine their hands clutching for me just inches behind my back. But I am as fast as I need to be. I don’t even pause at the end of the floor. The whole rises up to meet me midstride.
The emptiness swallows me. My legs flail, useless. My hands grip the air, claw through it, searching for anything solid. Cold blows past me like tornado winds.
I hear the thud before I feel it…the wind is gone…
And then the pain is everywhere….Pain is everything.
Make it stop.
Not high enough, I whisper to myself through the pain.
When will the pain end? When…?

So read the book if you want more info!

AND NOW......
HEY GUYZ so, I finished the Host and Wow! Just an update on everything! The ending is an unexpected twist that left me clinging to the book staring into space whimpering, "Wanda, Mel, Jared, Ian, Jamie!"  So please, read the book. It will change you for the better!

Signing off,
Mariana!

The Hunger Games Chariot Costume

Hey Guyz!!!! I'm one of the many (awesome) contributers and this is my FIRST post!! OMG yay!!
OK let's get down to business!! I'm obsessed with THG and I saw the movie and one thing there was a lot of argument about was... Datada the "Girl Of Fire" dress!  The first one for the chariot ride.  I thought......................... It was...........................OK.  I mean in the book it's described amazingly and *SPOILER ALERT!* I think it's really important symbolism for when she starts the revolution in the rest of the triology. I want opinions on the dress guys! Anyways I have the quote's describing the dress "A few hours later, I am dressed in what will either be the most sensational or the deadliest costume in the opening ceremonies. I'm in a simple black unitard that covers me from ankle to neck. Shiny leather boots lace up to my knees. But it's the fluttering cape made of streams of orange, yellow, and red and the matching head piece that define our costume. Cinna plans to light them on fire just before out chariot rolls into the streets." Page 67 Paragraph 2 The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.

Signing Out,
Good Bye Plzzzzz gimme ur opinion!!!!
